# Synchronized Ad Spaces
Here we cover Synchronized Ad Spaces and their configurations in Unity.
For more information on Synchronized Ad Spaces and best practices see our Developer Guidelines.
# Creating Synchronized Ad Spaces
Here we go through the different methods of creating Synchronized Ad Spaces.
# Ad Space Inspector
Select a regular Ad Space in the Hierarchy Window and scroll down to the "Synchronized Ad Spaces" section in the Inspector Window.
Click the "Create New" button.
This will create and link a new Synchronized Ad Space in the active Scene or Prefab Stage.
# Game Object Menu
- Select GameObject > Frameplay > Ad Space Synchronized to create a new (unparented) Synchronized Ad Space Game Object in the active Scene or Prefab Stage.
This method of creation can be used to set up a Synchronized Ad Space Prefab, designed to be spawned and linked to a parent at runtime.
The Synchronized Ad Space can be linked to a Parent Ad Space by setting the Parent Ad Space reference in the Inspector or in a script.
AdSpaceSynchronized.ParentAdSpace = AdSpace;
# Inspector Configuration
Select the Synchronized Ad Space in the Hierarchy Window to view the configurable properties in the Inspector Window.
The majority of Synchronized Ad Space behavior is inherited from the parent Ad Space.
A description field to easily identify the Ad Space in the current Scene.
Ad Spaces will not always have an advertisement loaded. When an advertisement is not loaded, a fully customizable Placeholder Material is displayed instead.
Each Synchronized Ad Space can display its own custom Placeholder Material.
Ad Spaces can also be set to remain invisible when an advertisement is not loaded by using
Place Holder Visible During Play.
See our Best Practices Guide on how to preserve your game environment style by utilizing Placeholders.
